John Isom
Department Trainer

 

John Isom (He/Him) has been with RCS since January 2024. Originally from Minneapolis, MN, John received a BA in English Literature with a Secondary Education certification from Eureka College. He was a substitute teacher and a middle school English teacher. In addition, he was the director for a summer camp for developmentally delayed adults living in group homes, offering them opportunities to experience natural settings. He applied his teaching experience and creativity as a park ranger, working in national parks and national forests all over the country such as Mt. St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, Bryce Canyon, and Dinosaur National Monument. In his free time, John writes fiction, travels with his wife, and collects vinyl records. He has also written, directed, and filmed a total of four bad sci-fi comedies with friends.
