In this workshop attendees will be introduced to essential concepts and culture of LGBTQ people. Content includes: Understanding and defining what LGBTQ stands for and what it means to the LGBTQ population; the "Genderbread" person; a way to showcase the four main spectrum’s of experience all people are on; and what is all this about pronouns and why should we go out of our way to ask what a person's pronouns are?
This training is intended for those that work with children and youth within the child welfare system or are at-risk of entering. This includes child welfare workers, resource parents, youth sports coaches, youth mentors, teachers, law enforcement and volunteers/staff working with this population.
