Understanding Poverty Session 2: Shattering the Myths and Removing Stereotypes that Get in the Way of Making a Difference

Registration: https://www.combarriers.com/Understanding_Poverty

Location: Zoom

Most of the training and research on poverty are conducted by people who have not lived it. Dr. Donna M. Beegle brings an insider perspective as well as 30 years of research and working with communities in all 50 states to break poverty barriers. In this series of four poverty competency trainings, she shares her unique insights along with a foundational understanding of poverty and its impacts on our neighbors. This training will increase your understanding and compassion for many of the families and clients you may work with creating a space where interventions and strategies increase positive outcomes.

This training is intended for those that work with children and youth within the child welfare system or are at-risk of entering. This includes child welfare workers, resource parents, youth sports coaches, youth mentors, teachers and volunteers/staff working with this population.
