Cultural Perspectives of Trauma

Registration: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/lake-humboldt-and-mendocino-cultural-perspectives-of-trauma-tickets-114364970706

Trainer: Nicole Klasey, Psy.D. with Nola Brantley Speaks

Given the disproportionate number of youth of color in the foster care system, it’s imperative for social service providers to engage in culturally-informed ways. This training will explore cultural perspectives on trauma, healing, and resiliency. With a greater cultural understanding of these concepts, providers will be able to increase their engagement with youth and families in more culturally meaningful ways.

This training is intended for those that work with children and youth within the child welfare system or are at-risk of entering. This includes child welfare workers, resource parents, youth sports coaches, youth mentors, teachers, law enforcement and volunteers/staff working with this population.
