This workshop demonstrates the difference between a scary event and a trauma; how a trauma is formed, and how it relates to pre-set cortisol levels and the degree to which the person believed they might die. In addition to a PowerPoint and in-depth discussion of neuroscience, we use the 5 Languages of Love quiz, a self-care collage and artwork to help mend the damage done from endured trauma(s). The artwork then serves as a map of what each person in the family needs to feel loved. Families (and departments in agencies) cherish this map and use it to help sustain one another.
