The training is derived from an evidence-based model called Pro-ACT (Professional Assault Crisis Training), a principle-based safety enhancement program, designed to teach professionals to prevent or respond to potential client assaults in a successful way.   

This training is based on a set of principles that focus on maintaining client dignity and keeping people safe by understanding the importance of: professional preparation, motives for assault and the applicable interventions and alternatives, developing and strengthening the skills to identify early interventions and prevent/reduce dangerous and potentially assaultive behavior, providing guidance in recovery, and achieving a consistent and operative client safety plan.
