Tis The Season

It’s that time of year again...where we look back on the months that have passed and take a moment to count our blessings and appreciate all of the amazing children, youth, and young adults who have entered our lives and touched our hearts.

As you know, many of the youth we serve are unable to be with family during the holidays and may even be spending this season adjusting to life in a new home. For those who are fortunate to be with family, financial struggles can make it difficult to manage gift exchanges and spend quality time with one another.

What we experience as a season of giving and joy, is often a season of sorrow, stress and loss for so many of our youth. We at Redwood Community Services are asking our local businesses, community members, and neighbors to join us in supporting our many youth and families this holiday season. Your one time gift can make a lifetime difference.

Whether it be sponsoring a youth, choosing a gift off a wish list, or simply picking out that present that is calling to you, your generous donations truly provide hope to many and help us in spreading holiday cheer to young and old.

Unwrapped gifts may be dropped off at either of our two office locations: 800 N. State Street Ukiah or: 160 S. Main Street Lakeport, CA. Monetary donations can be mailed to: P.O. Box 2077 Ukiah, CA 95482 or made online at: www.redwoodcommunityservices.org. If you would like more information on holiday donations, sponsoring a youth, or gathering wish lists, please call: (707) 467-2000. All donations are tax deductible.

All the amazing work and care could not be possible without the dedicated, mission-driven staff and foster parents who work for RCS. These people go anywhere, do anything, and sacrifice so much in order to meet the children and families where they are. We are blessed and honored to serve with them each and every day.

The children, youth, and young adults we serve are often genuinely amazed and thankful that there are people in the community that care about their situation and want so very much to help.

The donations that you provide during this time of year touch the hearts of our youth and families. Many of our youth have grown up and continue to pay that generosity forward. Thank you for teaching them that giving matters, that community matters, and that they matter. Those are lessons they will never forget.
